I've noticed that when I accelerate from a stop with a lot of steering lock to the right on my car, it feels like the wheel 'slips' slightly before it starts moving.
2002 SVT Focus, 104k miles. New clutch, flywheel earlier this year. Wheel bearings are probably original.

Whinde is not a word...
Did you mean wind, or bind?

Definitely sounds like axle wind, which isn't a big deal at all. Keep in mind these cars have an open diff so that could have something to with it as well.

Hopefully it's just because I replaced the clutch and it actually bites now. I still don't like it though.

Here's to hoping. If anything I'd just take it down to a local mechanic and drop $75 on a diag just for some peace of mind, it doesn't sound like a major issue, though. Can't say I've ever noticed anything like that when I got my own clutch and flywheel replaced but then again these stupid cars are so quirky and weird it could be anything.
